The Gallery On Main hosted a reception on Friday, February 13, highlighting local non-profits participating in the 2026 That Heart Month tablescape exhibit. The Boar Named Bob for the Cole Barker Memorial Scholarship Fund received the most tickets, placing them in 1st place, with the Franklin County Historical Association coming in 2nd, and the Lions Club placing 3rd. All the non-profits were winners, and each is to be commended for the work they do for our local community. We want to thank Pam Barnard at Sam Harvey’s Funeral Home for the programs, Courtney Bean from Proverbs Kitchen for providing refreshments, and Charles Nickels, who entertained guests with patriotic melodies on his harmonica.

In conjunction with the tablescape exhibit, the gallery was honored to host the Franklin County 4-H group and their “Quilts of Valor Ceremony". The 4-H members presented handmade quilts they had created to the recipients. The ceremony honored David Allen, a Navy Veteran who served during the Vietnam era and who is a Gold Star family member. Also honored was James Alexander, retired Army, who served in Iraq/Afghanistan.

This fall, in conjunction with the Mount Vernon Key Club’s CountryFest, the Arts Alliance will ask willing artists and crafters to donate an artistic version of a child's chair to be auctioned to help promote the arts in Franklin County. Interested persons, please call Linda Hammond or Jean Pamplin for more information.

Gallery on Main, 204 West Main Street, Mount Vernon, TX 75457. 903-537-9009.
Hours: Wednesday through Friday, 11 to 5 PM, and Saturday, 10 to 2 PM.
The Gallery on Main is part of The Franklin County Arts Alliance, a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote art and cultural events in the community.
