About Us

MVNow was created to support and highlight the many individuals and organizations serving our community, while bringing stories and happenings together in one central place.

Our mission is a nonprofit, independent digital newspaper that provides accurate, impartial, and timely news and information to educate the public and strengthen civic participation. The goal is positive, meaningful coverage that deepens community pride and engagement.

What is MVNow?

MVNow is operating as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our donation-driven annual budget will support a full-time news and content manager to ensure a professional, timely and dependable product. Our board resulted from inspired conversations on the “news desert” facing communities like ours suffering the loss of local newspapers. MVNow evolved after nearly a year of research into other platforms and options around the country.

What kind of content can I expect? How is MVNow different from Facebook?

Content will cover more than a dozen categories gathered from civic organizations, clubs and feature writers. Expect valuable information similar to a newspaper, but without comments, politics, advertisements, or editorial opinion writing.

Topic areas will include a community calendar, sports/school news, the arts, local government coverage, club updates, obituaries and crime reports, get-to-know features, lake news, and much more!
