Still Hope Movie: Public Invited to Local Viewing Event
Human trafficking is one of the fastest-growing criminal activities in the country. It is known to occur in all fifty states in the U.S. Franklin County and surrounding regions have also been affected by this atrocity. Prevention involves community awareness.
Recently released, Still Hope shines a light on the realities of human trafficking. If you missed seeing the movie in theaters, there is another opportunity to view this inspiring film. On Friday, March 27, 2026, there will be a local showing at First Baptist Church Youth Center in Mount Vernon.
This is a powerful story of healing, redemption, and restoration. Hope is the main character. Hope’s journey powerfully illustrates the courage it takes to find healing and forgiveness after the darkest time in her life. Her experience is inspired by a compilation of real events of two graduates of Pure Hope Foundation, located in Franklin County.

One viewer stated, “It brings the harsh reality of trafficking into focus, while pointing to faith, forgiveness, and restoration. This film highlights the type of sacred work of Pure Hope Foundation (PHF) to create a safe space and deep love and care for every survivor they serve”.
Locally, Pure Hope Foundation’s vision is to strengthen families and restore survivors of sex trafficking. Since 2015, PHF has provided home, resourcing, programming, and counsel to survivors. They provide a beautiful residential therapeutic model offering a healthy community, educational assistance, financial literacy, job training, and other critical life skills.
The movie was recently honored with three awards at the 2026 Crown Awards program: Best Picture, Best Theatrical Production, and Best Actress. The filmmakers strike a careful balance, revealing the gravity and trauma of trafficking in a way that is impactful and honest, yet avoids unnecessary graphic or explicit language or content.
When you support this film, you support the anti-trafficking movement and invest in the healing of those wounded by the atrocity of trafficking. When you buy a ticket now, you are doing more than seeing a film. You are making a difference!
The Still Hope movie event is intended to bring local awareness, understanding, and hope. The ticket price of $10 includes popcorn and a drink. Attendees will hear a personal introduction by Pure Hope Foundation founder Kathrine Lee, and a Q&A panel discussion by Pure Hope staff following the movie. Event coordinators encourage everyone to WEAR BLUE, the anti-trafficking color, and come enjoy an evening of local support and fellowship.
Tickets are being sold locally at the Loading Dock restaurant, Franklin County Chamber office, Mount Vernon House (assisted living), First Baptist Church Atrium, following Sunday, March 22nd worship. Additionally, several local team members throughout the region will be selling tickets person-to-person.
