The Old Saltillo Cemetery Association will hold its 2026 Business Meeting and Memorial Day program at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 19, at the Old Saltillo United Methodist Church, located at 664 County Road 3357 in Saltillo.

The morning will begin with congregational singing led by Brad Cummings, accompanied by pianist Lynda Davidson, followed by the opening ceremony. Afterward, the Association will conduct its annual business meeting, which will include a formal report from the Board of Directors outlining the organization’s activities over the past year, its current financial position, plans for the coming year, and the election of three members to serve on the Board of Directors for the 2026–2029 term.

Continuing a tradition that has been observed for many years, the program will also include a memorial service honoring those who have been laid to rest in the Old Saltillo Cemetery during the past year.

This year’s featured speaker will be Carlyn Copeland, Cemetery Preservation Program Specialist with the Texas Historical Commission, who will share remarks during the program.

Following the service, attendees are invited to gather for lunch in the air-conditioned Kirby Memorial Center. Those planning to attend are encouraged to bring enough of a favorite dish to feed members of their own party while also sharing with others. The meal will be served buffet style, with plates, eating utensils, iced drinks, and coffee provided by the Association.

Although seating inside the serving area is limited, ample space is available beneath the large oak trees surrounding the church. Guests are welcome to bring lawn chairs, card tables, or other outdoor seating to enjoy lunch and fellowship with family, friends, and fellow attendees.

Additional information about the event is available in the Old Saltillo Cemetery Association newsletter, which can be found on the Association’s website.
