Wow! Here we are residing in the greatest nation on earth, celebrating its 250th anniversary, and D-Day is still in our recent memories!

Today I'd like to share with y'all a letter I received from the World War II National Museum, of which I am a Founding Charter member since 2022. There is a very special place in my heart for all patriots and veterans. My service to this nation as a Marine started as and continues to be motivated by my love and respect of the Greatest Generation. My support of this institution is never-ending, yet I have not visited in person. It is however, in my near future plans.

The letter is as follows;

Dear Robert,

The night before the D-Day Landing, General Dwight D. Eisenhower wrote to the 160,000-member Allied Expeditionary Force awaiting mobilization:

"The eyes of the world are upon. The hopes and prayers of liberty-loving people everywhere march with you." He was speaking to men like Electrician's Mate First Class Ross R. Olsen, who served on the USS Nevada on June 6, 1944, D-Day. Olsen and his fellow crewmates saved an Allied minesweeper and destroyed a German pillbox on Utah Beach during the invasion.

This month marks the 82nd anniversary of D-Day. As this history grows more distant, it becomes easier to lose sight of the extraordinary courage, teamwork, and sacrifice demonstrated by thousands of ordinary Americans on those beaches of Normandy. We cannot allow that to happen.

Firsthand accounts are one of the most powerful ways to keep this history alive so future generations can understand the price of freedom and be inspired by what they learn. Thanks to Founding Charter Members like you, we are not only able to capture more stories but also share them in new and impactful ways to ensure that they remain fresh and relevant.

Robert, I recently sent your 2026 Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of your commitment. I hope it arrived in good condition. Today, I am reminded of how fortunate we are to have partners like you, who are as determined as we are to carry this history forward, no matter how much time passes.

(And I do that with this radio show, and some newspaper articles passed around East Texas.)

Today, ever fewer Americans have a personal connection to World War II. Millennials are likely the last generation whose grandparents served or lived through wartime.

I share this, not because I expect our readers to take on or support my charities, but as a reminder that over the 250 years of America's history, our military might has continued to keep us in the leadership of the world! GOD BLESS AMERICA and its 250th anniversary!
