It has been exciting to see all that we have accomplished together as a community through our digital newspaper. From the very beginning, our board understood that building and sustaining such an endeavor would require the support of the people of Mount Vernon and Franklin County.
To give ourselves the best chance of success, we strategically waited until after January 1 to submit our 501(c)(3) application. We were thrilled not only to be accepted but also to receive nonprofit approval before the end of January. Around that same time, the overwhelming support of our Founding Underwriters allowed us to reach our annual funding goal, providing a strong foundation for the year ahead.
As we continue to grow and strengthen this community-driven organization, we are excited to announce the launch of our new online donation portal through PayPal. This gives everyone an opportunity to support the ongoing work and local coverage that MVNow provides for Mount Vernon and Franklin County.
We would also like to reiterate that while donations are welcome, both online and in person, our articles, website, and The MVNow Thread newsletter will remain free and free of advertising. Contributions are simply a way for community members to show their appreciation for the work being done and to help sustain this valuable local resource.
