Empty display cases are waiting in the Fire House Museum for a new exhibit rotation of military service uniforms and artifacts.  For years, local folks have donated the uniforms and artifacts from their family members' service in World War II to the Museum.  This collection has been stored in the archives building for the Franklin County Historical Association.  Last month, the Board decided to display these items.

To expedite this rotation, Mike Millender is coordinating the display selection, verification, and set-up in the Museum.  Mike is a member of the Historical Association's administrative board. Board members are assisting with preparing the displays.

Uniforms for the military exhibits are from men and women’s service times.  Attires will be presented on mannequins and in shadow boxes, with related awards and medals.  Artifacts of military life and, in some cases, survival, will be on display in the cases awaiting this presentation.

The target date for opening the military service exhibits is Memorial Day, 2026.
