
Hadley Miller earned the Grand Champion Award in the Broiler Division of the 2026 Mount Vernon / Saltillo Young Farmers Project Show. She is a member of the Saltillo Junior FFA. Her pen of three broilers brought $1,600 at auction from purchaser Priefert Manufacturing Co., Inc. and Peoples Telephone Co-op Inc.

The Reserve Champion Broiler Award was earned by Monica Self, a member of the Mount Vernon High School FFA. Mt. Vernon Tire purchased three broilers for $800. The Broiler Senior Showmanship Award was also earned by Self.

Broiler Best Set of Records was kept by Kaylee DeHart, a member of the Mount Vernon High School FFA.

Sadie Kittle, a Franklin County 4-H Chapter member, earned the Junior Showmanship Award for the Broiler Division.

Feathers flew as birds were upended for judges to inspect at the 2026 Mount Vernon / Saltillo Young Farmers Project Show. The Broiler Division is the only division in which a family member can assist the student in holding the three wriggly fouls up for judging.
