The Franklin County Historical Association hosted its annual Heritage Food Night on October 5, 2026, at the Cultural Arts Center in Mount Vernon, bringing friends and neighbors together for an evening of food, fellowship, and cherished memories. Attendees brought favorite dishes to share, many accompanied by personal stories about family recipes, traditions, and the special memories that make them meaningful.

The evening also featured entertainment by Dan Hoke, whose performance took guests on a nostalgic journey through days gone by. Throughout the gathering, attendees had opportunities to reminisce, exchange stories, and celebrate the traditions that have helped shape Franklin County’s rich cultural heritage.

Heritage Food Night continues to be such a special event in terms of keeping the links between the generations alive through food and stories. The Franklin County Historical Association would like to extend its thanks to all who took part and helped to make the evening such a success. Please see the video for the highlights and the reflections of the evening.
