Early voting by personal appearance for the November 3, 2026, General Elections (mid-term) continues through Friday, Oct. 30.

Early voting by personal appearance for eligible Franklin County voters is at one location, 502 Main St. East, Mount Vernon, TX 75457, known as the Franklin County East Annex. The early voting location is open Sunday, Oct. 25, from noon to 6 p.m. and will be open the rest of the week, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, Oct. 26, 27, 28, 29, and 30.

Curbside voting is available for eligible voters who are physically unable to enter the polling place without personal assistance or are at risk of injuring their health. Under Texas law, voters who qualify may request to vote curbside at their polling location. Call the Franklin County Elections Office at 903-537-8353 if you have questions about curbside voting prior to your arrival. This also applies on election day, Nov. 3. All eight-voting precinct / polling locations will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on election day.

Requesting ballots by mail ended Friday, Oct. 23. The application was required to be received by the elections office by close of business that day. They must be returned no later than 7 p.m. on Election Day if no postmark, or by that time the second day after the election if it was postmarked before 7 p.m. on Election Day. Different rules apply for military and out-of-country ballots.

The Friday voting report was the last available before this publication. That report indicated that of the 7,799 registered voters in Franklin County, 1,496 (just over 19 percent) have cast their ballots early. Included in the ballots cast were 77 ballots by mail.

Under Texas law, voters are required to bring identification with them to vote. Here are the accepted forms of identification: Texas Driver License (TDL), Texas Election Identification Certificate, Texas Personal Identification Card, Texas Handgun License, U.S. Military Identification Card containing the person’s photograph, U.S. Citizenship Certificate containing the person’s photograph, or a U.S. Passport

When it comes to your TDL, having an outdated address on your license will not prohibit you from voting. A license up to four years expired will also work.
