
Local party county chairpersons are to be decided along with propositions on the Republican and Democratic party ballots. Propositions will help county and state party leaders shape their respective party platforms for the midterm election conventions and influence the next round of state legislative bills.

Glenda Pollock is unopposed in her bid for another two-year term as Franklin County Democrat Chair.
There are three men seeking the Republican Party Chair. Candidates for the office are Mike Millender, Jack Brooks, and Andre Miller.
Voters will be asked which party’s ballot they wish to receive and will be given an assortment of that party’s numbered ballots to choose from. Voters will also be qualified by checking their registered photo ID, voter registration card, etc., and then signing the voter list.
Their Participation in a party primary in March determines their ability to vote in any runoff elections or participate in the party’s precinct, county, and state party conventions. A pledge at the top of each of the respective ballots requires the voter to declare that they are a specific party voter and that they understand that they are not eligible to vote or participate in another political party’s primary election or convention during this voting year.
This is concerning to several voters. However, voting in a party's primary does not prevent an individual voter from crossing party lines to vote for a different candidate in the November General Election. Unlike party primaries, the general election is run by the Texas counties.
