A new 4-H year is underway across Texas, and youth are encouraged to join the nation's largest youth development organization as enrollment opens for the 2026-2027 program year.
Texas 4-H, a program of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, provides young people with opportunities to develop leadership, citizenship, and life skills through hands-on learning experiences. Members can participate in a wide variety of projects in Agriculture and Livestock, Family and Community Health, Leadership and Citizenship, Natural Resources, and STEM.
"4-H offers youth the chance to discover their passions, develop confidence, and gain valuable skills that will benefit them throughout their lives," said Addison Poynter. Whether a young person is interested in science, agriculture, leadership, or the arts, 4-H has a place for them.
Texas 4-H welcomes youth of all backgrounds and interests. Members learn by doing through club meetings, project experiences, educational contests, leadership opportunities, and community service activities. In addition to building knowledge and skills, 4-H fosters friendships and connections that can last a lifetime.
Enrollment for the new 4-H year is now open. Youth and families interested in joining can learn more about local clubs and opportunities by contacting their local County Extension Office or visiting texas4-h.tamu.edu.
Parents, volunteers, and community members are also encouraged to get involved by supporting local 4-H programs and helping create positive youth development experiences.
The new 4-H year promises exciting opportunities for learning, leadership, and service across the state.
