I grew up in Sulphur Bluff, the youngest of four girls. Dad owned and operated a Phillips 66 Service Station and a small cow-calf farm. Mom was a Beautician. Her shop was attached to our garage. We grew up working at home, at the service station, on the farm, and in our church.
I graduated from Sulphur Bluff High School as salutatorian of my class in May of 1969 and began working at First National Bank of Mount Vernon in September. With the exception of three years, my work history has been with First National Bank, now Alliance Bank.
My education includes an AS degree in Banking from Northeast Texas Community College and a graduate banking degree from Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at SMU.
My pride and joy are my children, Joey and Jeffery, and my grandchildren, Jacob and
Caitlin. My hobbies include traveling, spending time with family and friends, and working in the
Community. Ken Greer and I have often laughed and quoted Robert Browning-
“Grow old along with me! The Best is yet to be!” We have enjoyed our lives in this
small town we call home.
