In February 2025, the Franklin County Sheriff's Office received a report from an adult victim who disclosed she had been sexually assaulted as a child in November 2000 in Franklin County. During the initial report, investigators were informed that the suspect, now 60-year-old Adrian Villalon Hernandez, was using a different name on social media and was believed to be living out of state.

Investigator Randal Lain immediately began working the case. Through extensive research, review of historical records, and continued investigative efforts, he confirmed that the suspect had assumed the name Reynaldo Hernandez Villalon, had obtained a Minnesota driver's license, and was residing in Kanawha, Iowa.

The Wright County Sheriff's Office in lowa were contacted and assisted Franklin County investigators in positively identifying the suspect.
On Wednesday, May 20, Investigator Lain and Texas Ranger David Stewart traveled to lowa, located Hernandez, and arrested him on three counts of Indecency with a Child. Hernandez is currently booked into the Wright County Jail, where he awaits extradition to Texas.

Since the arrest, additional victims have come forward with information.

I want to commend Investigator Randal Lain for his persistent, detailed work on this case, his determination brought clarity to a twenty-year-old crime and ensured a dangerous offender was located and taken into custody. I would also like to thank Texas Department of Public Safety Colonel Freeman Martin for providing aircraft support, which allowed us to move quickly, as well as Texas Ranger David Stewart for his critical assistance throughout this investigation.

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office remains fully committed to protecting our residents, standing with survivors, and pursuing justice no matter how much time has passed. If you are a victim of abuse, we encourage you to come forward. You will be heard, and we will take action.

Sincerely,

RICKY JONES
SHERIFF
