Attached you will find a presentation concerning the update of the city’s FEMA Flood Plan map. The city’s map are over 40 years old. Franklin county has never had FEMA Flood Plan maps. This effort will map the entire county and update the mapping for the city. This information is important for public safety as well as development planning. This process will take approximately one year. Staff will be working with FEMA as well as the Franklin County Emergency Management Coordinator on this project.
Maintenance Crew – the maintenance crew has been mowing, trimming, and preparing the plaza and park for CountyFest this weekend. They have also delivered barricades for road/street closures. Additionally, they have been painting offices in City Hall.
Water department and Utility Crew – Work continues with the engineers to address issues with the dam at city lake per the directive of TCEQ. The dam is sound, but due to neglect for several years needs some minor repairs. Tony and Chad are developing cost effective solutions to address the issues.
