
“Red, White, and Clues,” Northeast Texas Writers Organization’s (NETWO’s) annual conference is set for
Saturday, June 6, from 8 am to 4 pm at the Mount Pleasant Civic Center in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. This year's theme focuses on suspense. Snacks, beverages, and lunch will be provided. Register online at netwo.org
Conference sessions are filled with an eclectic line-up of professionals, including Carolyn L. Dean, USA
Today's best-seller of more than 800,000 books, Texas Ranger and Cold Case Specialist Brian Hemati, Colonel Jesse Boulden, Director of the International ALERT Academy and expert in Search and Rescue and First Responder practices, James R. Callan, a NETWO pillar and multi-award-winning author of mystery and
suspense; and Richard Z. Santos, finalist of the Writer’s League of Texas Book Awards and multi-award-winning author, speaker, teacher, and lecturer.
In light of the USA’s 250th anniversary, NETWO is honoring veterans and members of law enforcement
during the conference. Scholarships are available for the first ten veterans and first responders to register.

A staple in the Northeast Texas writing community for decades, NETWO’s annual conference serves as
an educational and fellowship opportunity for writers, artists, and industry professionals. Writers of all skill
levels and genres are welcome to attend. And this year, all veterans and law enforcement members are invited, with scholarships available for the first 10 veterans and first responders to register.
NETWO is a 501 (c) non-profit organization dedicated to the education and advancement of literary and
related arts. Founded in the mid-1980s with roots at the Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC), the
conference has hosted a variety of high-profile authors such as Rick Riordan, Colleen Hoover, Helen Myers,
and Jodi Thomas, as well as New York editors and agents.
