Phillip Higginbotham has covered high school sports for local newspapers in Texas for more than a decade, with a particular focus on high school football and the people and communities surrounding it. He also has six years of sports media experience covering the San Antonio Gunslingers through game broadcasts. Outside the press box, Phillip serves full-time as pastor of First United Methodist Church in Mount Vernon. He enjoys telling the stories of local athletes, coaches, schools, and communities, and believes some of the most meaningful sports stories are found beyond the final score.
