I was born and raised in Highland Park, graduating from HP High School in 1960… followed by college at Southern Methodist University, where I graduated in 1964 with a degree in Accounting. While attending SMU, I began working part-time at a downtown Dallas Bank at the age of 19.  The enjoyment of Banking as a lifetime profession continued for over 60 years.

In 1977, I was offered the opportunity to move to Mount Vernon and serve as President & CEO of the First National Bank of Mount Vernon. My affiliation with the Bank and the Franklin County Community became an ongoing Spiritual Relationship that extended from full retirement from Alliance Bank of Mount Vernon in 2019 to today’s continued community service, including involvement with MVNow.

My life has been blessed with my two daughters, Emily and Amy, and 5 grandchildren... and Frankie Cooper, my companion of over 40 years, including her grandchildren.
