Elceone Black Roberts graduated from Mt Vernon High School in 1956. She graduated from East Texas State University with a degree in Home Economics. She went to Santa Fe, Texas ( near Galveston) to teach Home Ec which she did for 29 years before retiring. She met her husband, John Roberts, when she first arrived there and they were married 63 years before his death. She now lives in Abilene, Texas to be near her son and daughter-in-law and three wonderful granddaughters.
